A Study of Ambulatory ECG Down-sampling Compression Method Based on Feature Waves Detection

Aimed at the characteristics of huge data size and multi-leads of ambulatory ECG,a time domain compression method based on feature wave detection was designed. The method located the feature waves and separated them from non-important waves apart.By this way, diagnostic information was preserved without any distortion.A high compression ratio was achieved by down-sampling the non-important wave, and cubic interpolation was applied to the down-sampled data. The reconstructed signal could hold the basic characteristics of original non-important waves. The Einthoven law was applied to eliminate the redundancy among the data leads.A good balance between computational complexity and compression ratio was achieved in this paper.
