Measurement of transmission loss using vibration transducers

Abstract An alternative method of measuring sound transmission loss using accelerometers is described. The discrepancies between the new method and the standard method are discussed and it is shown that by using suitable corrections to the new method good agreement can be obtained. Finally, it is shown that the values of vibration amplitude derived from the mass law do not agree with those found experimentally.
