지방 대도시 내 대형마트 및 기업형 슈퍼마켓(SSM)의 적정 상권범위에 관한 연구

To suppress rapid increase of the number of a wholesale mart and a super-super market(SSM), national government adopts the Regulation for Adjustment of Projects for Small and Medium Enterprises(RAPSME), and sets a “limit zone” where launching a new wholesale mart or SSM is restricted under and the Revised Enforcement Regulations(RER). Yet, discussions on proper sizes of a trade area of both a wholesale mart and a SSM have hardly been conducted. In this study, face-to-face survey was conducted with 531 users who visited wholesale marts(231 users) and SSMs(300 users) in Dalseogu, Daegu Metropolitan City. To analyze trade area of a wholesale mart and SSM, Customer Spotting Technique(CST) and Time Sensitivity Measurement(TSM) were applied. Study results found that a trade area of a wholesale mart ranged from 3.2㎞ radius(by CST) to 9.5km radius(by TSM). Next, a trade area of a SSM ranged from 450m radius(by TSM) to 1.3㎞ radius(by CST). In addition, when SSM was classified base on the size of store and the CST was applied, the trade area of small size of SSM could be larger than that of larger size of SSM. Findings suggest that the trade areas of both a wholesale mart and SSM in local metropolitan cities need to be reexamined. Also, the relationship between SSM size and trade area should be redefined in further studies. The results of this study is expected to be used as reference in RAPSME, RER, and the local governments’ ordinance.
