Application of the torsion pendulum method to barium ferrite media

Measurements on particulate barium ferrite samples, three with ZnTi doping and one with CoTi doping, are reported. The measurements were made using the torsion pendulum method. A decrease of the magnetocrystalline anisotropy field with increasing dopant concentration is found. The effect of grain size is also investigated. The method can be used to distinguish between single-domain and multidomain behavior of the particles. >
