A new species of Rozites from oak forests of Colombia, with notes on biogeography

Rozites colombiana is newly described from a Quercus humboldtii forest in Colombia. Possessing a dry cap and pale violet lamellae, R. colombiana appears somewhat similar to species that apparently form ectomycorrhizae with Lithocarpus and Castanopsis in Papua New Guinea, and with Nothofagus in New Caledonia. The association of R. colombiana with a South American Quercus adds new information on the biogeography of the genus.
