Action-oriented Development of Information Systems: a Lan- guage-Mapping Approach

Two important views in the development of information systems are the action view and the model view. They characterize an information system as a system of interacting agents or a system of message-passing objects, respectively. We suggest an approach to mediate between these partially conflicting views by specifying a language-mapping framework. Assuming precedence of the action view, we map a language that represents this view onto a model-view language.
