This paper describes a study to determine how many of the vehicles that pass the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) pedestrian protection tests will also pass the headform impact Global Technical Regulation (GTR) on pedestrian safety. It was ascertained that very few will pass both tests, but many more vehicles would pass both with very little modification.
