Inthis paper, a studyispresented ofthedynamic behavior ofan automatic transmit power control (ATPC)loopin a single fixedwireless system(FWS)linksubject tomultipath fading andan uncorrelated co-channel interferer thatdoesnot useATPC (this represents a so-called non-ATPCFWS link or a fixed satellite link). Fundamental questions include thesensitivity ofan ATPC linktomultipath interference andtheco-channel interference that may becaused bya non-ATPCinterferer. Inthe context ofthepresent project, a goodexampleofa non-ATPC interferer isa fixedsatellite towhichone antennaina fixed microwavelinkhaspartial view.A computermodelwas developed thatconstitutes a useful toolindescribing; simulating andanalyzing an ATPC loopina single FWS link. Withtheaidof thismodel,results are presented on thesensitivity ofan ATPC loopina FWS linkwithrespect tochannel conditions, non-ATPC interference andparameter settings.
