Sex harassment claims forced out Grace CEO

W.R. Grace says that the unexpected resignation on March 2 of its president and chief executive officer, J. P. Bolduc—which it originally attributed to "differences of style and philosophy with the company's leadership"—actually was triggered by sexual harassment allegations brought against him by several Grace employees. The company released its altered explanation March 30 after a New York Times story that day revealed the allegations against Bolduc, based on a draft the newspaper obtained of Grace's preliminary proxy statement. Grace says an investigation conducted by former federal Judge Harold Tyler established that "grounds existed to find that Mr. Bolduc had sexually harassed certain employees of the company and others affiliated with the company."
