ABSTRACT This interview took place at the home of Christopher Wickham (CW) in Birmingham in February 2018. Wickham, Professor Emeritus at All Souls, Oxford, is an eminent medieval historian. His most recent book is Medieval Europe (2017). Daniel Fairbrother (DF), Postdoctoral Researcher at the Centre for Philosophical Studies of History, Oulu University, proposed a discussion fostering closer connections between philosophy and theory of history and history as it is actually practiced.
