A Novel RSU-Aided Hybrid Architecture for Anonymous Authentication (RAHAA) in VANET

With the Intelligent Transportation SystemITS projects gaining momentum all over the world, its backbone network VANET Vehicular Adhoc Network and its security architecture has become a prime research area in the recent past. With the VANET intending to improve the traffic efficiency and ensure comfort, safety and privacy of the users, meeting the complex security requirement of VANET has become an unenviable task. In this paper, we have proposed a novel Road Side Unit RSU-aided design which uses oneword CertificateLess SignCryption CLSC, without pairing, to provide anonymous authentication. The hybrid approach ensures that the proposed scheme works efficiently even in the absence of RSU. Simulation study and security analysis of the protocol clearly demonstrate the efficiency and effectiveness of the protocol.
