Ablación quirúrgica. Fuentes de energía y tecnologías

La ablacion de las arritmias ha experimentado un notable incremento en la practica quirurgica. La tecnologia al servicio de la cirugia cardiaca ha permitido tener en la actualidad nuevas fuentes de energia asociadas a aplicadores quirurgicos optimos. Sin embargo, la experiencia clinica es reciente y en algunos casos limitada. El cirujano debe conocer los fundamentos de cada tecnologia para poder seleccionar la mas apropiada segun el paciente, tipo de arritmia y experiencia quirurgica. En este articulo revisamos las diferentes tecnologias y fuentes de energia propuestas para la ablacion intraoperatoria de arritmias cardiacas, y finalmente tratamos de establecer conclusiones con el objetivo de reflexionar sobre la idoneidad de cada una de ellas.
