Critical analysis of pressure drop under pneumatic conveyance of solids

Abstract A general equaition for determination of pressure drop during pneumatic conveyance of solids has been developed which is valid for horizontal, vertical and inclined conveyors or a combination of all these with bends not only for steady-state conveyance but also for acceleration zone. The formula has beenverified for steady-state conveyance with reference to the data obtained from the experiments conducted by the authors and some other persons having worked in the same field. The equation for velocity of particles under pneumatic conveyance, as derived by the authors, has been used to calculate the pressurr drop due to solids.
