Failure-censored sampling plan for the Weibull distribution

In this paper, we examine the failure-censored sampling plan for the two-parameter Weibull distribution based on m random samples, each of size n. The suggested procedure is based on asymptotic results and only the first failure lifetime of each sample is needed. The values of the acceptability constant k, the sample size n, and the number of sample m are also tabulated for selected values of p α , p β , α and β. Further, a comparison of the proposed sampling plans with ordinary sampling plans using a sample of size mn is made for given (p α , 1 - α) and (p β , β) (that is, the same acceptability constant). When compared to ordinary sampling plan, the proposed plan has an advantage of shorted test-time, for given (p α , 1 - α) and (p β , β).
