Image enhancement using wavelet based contourlet transform

A new algorithm of image enhancement using wavelet based contourlet transform is proposed.Wavelet based contourlet trans-form is applied for its good property of capturing image's edges and texture.A non-linear operator is used to enhance the coefficients of the transform.Because the transform is not shift-invariant,cycle spinning is employed to restrain the distortion near the image edges.The experiments show that the algorithm proposed gets good results and enhances the image's details and texture.
