Label Coding Techniques for All-Optical MPLS Networks

In this paper, a short overview and comparison of label coding techniques is given. Particularly, different all-optical label processor implementations based upon optical code correlation are shown and investigated. The code families suitable for the all-optical MPLS are compared concerning the correlation properties and provided label lengths. The optical code label processor implementations are inves- tigated by means of numerical simulations and relating to the supported label lengths and permitted node-interconnection distances.
