A computer-aided telephone interview (CATI) survey was designed to gain a basic understanding of drivers' route choice behavior, to collect detailed information about their commute routes, and to understand their perceptions about their commute. The objectives of the project, in addition to the above, included (1) developing a practical mathematical and predictive models which reflect this choice and (2) finding the most promising approach for improving drivers' route choice through providing better information. The report describes the survey design and administration. General descriptive statistics are also introduced to show the characteristics preferences and perceptions in commuters' route choice behavior.
