The Rule Engine for the Java Platform

This article gives a brief introduction about the JESS tool. It shows the relevant aspects of the tool, its history and brings two examples in order to illustrate its use. This paper aims to improve the knowledge about Artificial Intelligence and Expert Systems tools. At the end, conclusions are presented. Resumo. O presente artigo apresenta uma breve introducao a ferramenta JESS. Nele sao apresentados os aspectos relevantes da ferramenta, seu historico e traz dois exemplos a fim de ilustrar seu uso. O objetivo deste trabalho e melhorar os conhecimentos na area de ferramentas de Sistemas Especialistas e Inteligencia Artificial. No final sao apresentadas as conclusoes.
