Motion tracking system for adaptive real-time imaging and spectroscopy

System motion tracking to track the movement of an object ( 'P') in a scan volume ( 'V') of a scanner Magnetic Resonance (120), the system comprising: a marker object orientation (30) connected to the object (P); and a detector (40) detects repeatedly postures orientation marker object (30), characterized in that: the orientation marker object (30), such as a retroreflector grating is configured to indicate a position in six degrees of freedom, the detector (40) comprises a chamber which is installed within a magnet part (20) of the scanner (120); a computer tracking movement (50) is arranged to analyze positions of orientation marker object (30) as are detected by the detector (40) to determine movement of the object (P) between the repeated detections; and the computer tracking movement (50) is arranged to send tracking information to the scanner (120) for imaging while dynamically adjusts the images to compensate for movement of the object (P).
