A COMPUTER CODE FOR THE PREDICTION OF PROPELLER BLADE STRESS BY CANTILEVER BEAM THEORY

A computer program (BSTRESS) for calculating the principal stresses in a propeller blade by the use of beam and torsional shear theory is described. The program considers steady hydrodynamic and centrifugal loading on the propeller blade and approximates the effects of blade rake and skew. The computer input and output are described, and a FORTRAN listing of the program is presented.
