1-W level diode pumped Pr:YLF orange laser

We report on 1W of continuous-wave output power at 604 nm wavelength under blue laser diode pumping of the Pr:YLF crystal. To reduce reabsorption losses, the laser system was designed for operation at cryogenic temperature. As a pump source, a fiber-coupled blue laser diode module from Necsel company was used.
