The ergonomie research on aircraft cabin mood lighting

Visual comfort as well as physical and mental influences of lighting is becoming more and more essential in people's life. The rising demand of flight make the development of cabin mood lighting a necessity. In the thesis, a background research was firstly conducted and a large scale ergonomic questionnaire was undertaken expecting to learn about passengers' need and preference for mood lighting in cabin. 1029 people were involved in this survey, including one fifth who work in the lighting industry. A big demand and a welcome attitude for cabin mood lighting were shown in the results, as well as people's preference for correlated color temperature (CCT) in different scenes during flight. Finally a pilot study experiment was conducted as a preparation for further ergonomic research on cabin mood lighting.
