A Review on Utilization of Waste Material as Reinforcement in MMCs

The application of waste material in Metal Matrix C omposites has been getting more attention as they c an reinforce particles in metal matrix which enhance th strength properties of the composites. In additio n, by applying these wastes materials in useful way not only save th e manufacturing cost of products but also reduce th e pollutions on environment. This paper represents a literature review on a range of waste materials from different sources and their utilization in metal matrix composites. The p aper describes the synthesis methods of waste filled m tal matrix composite materials and their mechanical, wear, corr osion, and physical properties. It also highlights t e application composites in aerospace, automotive and other const ruction industries.
