De Novo Design of a βαβ Motif

Ein masgeschneidertes monomeres Protein mit βαβ-Faltung, bei der zwei parallele β-Strange uber eine α-Helix verknupft sind (siehe Struktur), wurde ausschlieslich aus codierten Aminosauren konstruiert. Die hohe thermische Bestandigkeit dieser Struktur beruht auf ausgedehnten Tryptophan-Tryptophan-Wechselwirkungen zwischen den beiden β-Strangen.
