Constrained Coding for WDM Systems

Application of constrained coding to 40-Gb/s dispersion-managed fiber-optic communication systems is extended to multichannel links. When the transmitted sequences obey the so-called (2, ¿) constraint, an increase in data rate of 50% is demonstrated.
