The development of an ova holding device made of microporous glass plate for genetic engineering

In the conventional microinjection method using a micropipette, ovum manipulation is dependent upon the individual skills of the operators. In this study, the authors developed a newly invented ova holding device made of a microporous glass (MPG) disc which has a matrix of 5/spl times/5 micropockets with diameter of 130 /spl mu/m. Ova are drawn into the micropockets following the circulation of solution across the MPG disc.
