On an Improved Pattern of SOC Design

Traditional ASIC divides the system into two parts:the system-level software development and the circuit-level hardware design which makes it difficult to balance and optimize the software and hardware in the early stage of design, and it may seriously affect the developing costs and cycle. The paper puts forward a more general design of SOC-oriented hardware/software co-design approach illustrated through a GPS receiver as a concrete example. Results indicate that the method could solve the above problems effectively.
