Thermoelectric Power of Pure and Doped AgBr

Measurements on the thermoelectric power of pure AgBr and AgBr doped with CdBr2 have been interpreted in the light of the kinetic theories of Wirtz and de Groot. The ratio of the mobility of the interstitial silver ions to that of the vacancies as determined by Teltow is reasonably consistent with the data reported here on thermoelectric power. Estimates are given for the heats of transport of the various species of moving imperfections. No evidence of a contribution by Schottky defects to the thermoelectric power is found.
