The Relationship between Entrepreneurial Orientation and Business Performance: Comparison of Interactive Effects of the Three Entrepreneurs' Social Capital

Entrepreneurial orientation is a kind of strategic choice for business enterprise, previous studies have found that entrepreneurial orientation and business performance are positively related. According to the theory of social capital, social capital has a different impact on the process of implementation of the strategy, which will ultimately affect the performance of the implementation. Existing literature of social capital into social capital, commercial, institutional social capital and technology are three types of social capital, which reflects the different backgrounds. They provide different resources, information and opportunities, which have different supporting role on business-oriented implementation of the strategy. This article is to study the interaction of the difference between the three social capitals. Findings: First, entrepreneurial orientation has a positive effect on firm performance. Second, the three social capital have significant positive regulation, but regulation to varying degrees, from big to small according to regulation, namely, entrepreneur's institutional social capital, business social capital and technological social capital. Concluded that the implementation of business-oriented strategy, the entrepreneur should strengthen the three social capital accumulation and maintenance. Both object-oriented interaction with different backgrounds (heterogeneity), should also be emphasized that the total amount of social networks (network size), but should increase contact with various groups of frequency (network strength). In particular, should pay attention on the entrepreneur's institutional social capital, thus supporting business performance-oriented strategy into reality.
