Analysis of 2R optical regenerator utilising self-phase modulation in highly nonlinear fibre

An analysis of a 2R optical regenerator consisting of a saturable absorber, a highly nonlinear fibre, and an optical bandpass filter is presented. Performance improvement of quasi-linear highly-dispersed pulse transmission by the regenerator is also examined.
