Assessing Abnormal Space Catalog Updates

The Abnormal Catalog Update (ACU) is a web-based client-server system which uses neural networks (NNs) to analyze and detect abnormal events and mis-taggings in the daily catalog updates of the two line element (TLE) records, which represents over 10,000 orbiting objects each day. Historical TLE records for each object are used to train individual networks; these networks are then used to detect abnormalities in new TLE records. Any detection, along with relevant state information derived from the TLE records, are presented to end users in a webbrowser through an interactive, cross-platform Rich Internet Application (RIA) interface. The multi-user ACU system is scalable, extensible, supports a variety of user levels, and permits an analyst to customize the analysis parameters for individual objects.
