Analysis on Failure Causes of Floating Pile Composite Foundation for the Culvert

In order to study floating pile composite foundation,it is used to treat deep soft foundation for a culvert in the test engineering at Lingshan for Guangzhou-Zhuhai Highway.As a result,the settlement is far more than what is required.The test result shows that it is infeasible for the highway having high soft foundation to use floating pile composite foundation and the main reason is the additional stress caused by subgrade affects the depth to a great extent.In calculation of the settlement of composite foundation under subgrade,the subgrade load nearby,the earth load settled and the effect of negative friction at the boundary of composite foundation must be considered.
