Companies that want to improve their operational processes can choose from several different approaches when designing their improvement programs. Basically, however, most improvement program models fall into two broad categories: the traditional approach and the Systems Approach. This installment of the “Quality Toolbox” column compares the two approaches, highlighting their similarities and differences and discussing how they affect actual practices within companies.
