Geometrical and frictional loss model for scroll compressor with variable scroll thickness

Geometrical model for a scroll compressor with combined scroll profile and variable scroll thickness was given out.Mathematic models of chamber volume,gas force,and frictional loss of this compressor were established.The friction model was solved with Newton-Raphson's numerical method,so that the variation of friction loss power,shaft power,and mechanical efficiency of the compressor with different rotating speed were obtained.It was concluded that friction loss of the main bearing was the main influencing factor of mechanical efficiency when the variation pattern was analyzed.A great attention should be paid to this main factor during the process of optimization and manufacturing of scroll compressors.
