Guide Construction of an Efficient Inspection, Maintenance and Asset Management of Photovoltaic Power Generation System Using GIS☆

Abstract Recently, in Japan, the introduction of solar power generation has been rapidly increased for housing and even for non-residential buildings. Along with that, the maintenance and inspection operations are also expected to continue growing rapidly. Especially, as the solar power generation systems with an output more than 50 kW are obliged to be inspected by electrical chief engineer. Efficiency of the maintenance work of the solar power generation system has become an urgent task. Therefore, in our study, a model is constructed by the GIS (Geographic Information System) and GPS (Global Positioning System) and the UAV (Unmanned aerial vehicle) including infrared cameras and cloud computing and for the possible achievement of an efficient maintenance and asset management of the solar power generation system. Results show the arrangements can be done easily with providing enough data following the suggested scheme.
