A Schwanncentric View of Axon Arborization in Neuromuscular Junction (NMJ) Formation

Movement requires effective relay of commands from the CNS to muscles at neuromuscular junctions (NMJs). To form NMJs, developing motor neuron axons exit the spinal cord and navigate through a complex landscape to align with prepatterned AChRs on target muscle fibers ([Yang et al., 2001][1]).
