Combined heat and power in Eastern Europe: potentials and barriers

Development of CHP plays an important role in the European move towards a sustainable future. The development of CHP is to be found where there is a heat load today. Existing CHP plants in Eastern Europe, however, are presently being closed down due to changed fuel and electricity market conditions. A common effort between Western and Eastern European countries is needed to evaluate and reverse this development.
