Optical Fibers: Challenges and Opportunities in SDM

Continued growth in bandwidth demand is pushing the limits of capacity of optical fiber and cable, especially in cost-sensitive applications. This presentation reviews the current status and predictions for development of fibers specially designed to scale optical capacity to higher levels.
