Unsteady Computations of the Flowfield around a Helicopter Rotor with Model Support

*† ‡ This paper investigates the “rotor-support” interaction for a helicopter model in high speed forward flight. The configuration studied is the 7A multibladed rotor with the model support of the S1 Modane wind tunnel (ONERA, France). This research is carried out within the FrenchGerman cooperation CHANCE (Complete Helicopter AdvaNced Computational Environment). Inviscid and viscous, three dimensional, unsteady flows are computed using multiblock and overset strategies. A coupling procedure is used to take into account the interaction between the soft blades kinematics and the flowfield.
