Research on Unit Commitment Optimization in Thermal Power Plant Based on Immune Algorithm

After analyzing the mathematical model of unit commitment, characteristics of the immune algorithm and the application of immune algorithm in unit commitment, an approach using immune algorithms to solve the unit commitment problems was proposed. The antibody genes were encoded by composite coding,that means one part of the antibody genes are encoded by the real number coding and the rest are encoded by the binary coding. Antibody string concept was provided as well, which is helpful in implementing the algorithm. It was experimented in 10-unit system and the results show that this new method can effectively obtain or be close to global optimization compared with other optimization algorithms.
