DC Railway Infrastructure Simulation Including Energy Storage and Controllable Substations

The present paper describes and analyses a set of quasi- static railway power systems models and simulations considering on-board and off-board energy storage systems but also reversible and non-reversible substations and regenerative braking trains. The advantages and drawbacks of each technology will be discussed. Several cases considering different technological combinations will be presented and simulated and the results will be compared and analysed.
