These four lines read as if they may have appeared on many tombstones in those days, but taken in conjunction with the other ten lines, which are evidently personal to Maister Peter Lowe, support is given to the suggestion that the whole is an epitaph. The late Dr. Duncan, the learned historian of the Faculty, says that there is no information as to when or by whom the tombstone was erected, and presumably the authorship of the lines is also unknown.-I am, etc.,
