On the Action of O Substance Decomposing Enzyme upon T Substance

Iseki and Masakil' reported that both 0 substance decomposing enzyme released from Bacillus f ulminans and A substance decomposing enzyme released from Clostridium tertium make the specificities of the respective group substance disappear by decomposing them and separating methylpentose. Further they established that in these cases the total reducing value, hexosamine value, and amino acid constituents of the group substance remain scarcely changed except L-f ucose which is separated at the time of decomposition. T substance discovered by Furuhata and Ueyama2'3' in non-secretor human saliva through precipitation seems to be identical with Lei substance in blood cells4' and in saliva.5'6' Below is given a report on the actions of the group substance decomposing enzymes upon T substance.
