Patagonia: del presente etnográfico al pasado arqueológico

RESUMEN. En este trabajo se analizan los principales argumentos utilizados desde diferentes perspectivas paleo-biologicas, paleo-linguisticas, arqueologicas y antropologicas para explicar la diversidad y la conformacion etnica de las poblaciones indigenas en Patagonia, tanto en el presente como en el pasado. Entendemos que una revision conjunta y critica de los supuestos disciplinares, sobre los cuales se continua trabajando, permitira observar e identificar los patrones que emergen del registro historico, concernientes a la expresion de la variabilidad social patagonica. De igual modo, se propone una reflexion sobre las posibles proyecciones que plantea esta critica hacia la exploracion y la formulacion de nuevas preguntas sobre el registro arqueologico.
