Scintillation scanning using Tc 99m as a means of investigating mucosal lesions of the nose and para-nasal sinuses

Introduction SCINTILLATION scanning following the administration of Technetiura o.o, is used as an aid to diagnosis in several areas of the head and neck, the best known being the brain, the thyroid and the salivary glands (Harper et al., 1964; McAfee et al., 1964; Harden et al., 1967). It is the purpose of this paper to give a preliminary report of technetium uptake by mucosal lesions of the nose and para-nasal sinuses.
