A transmission apparatus and reception apparatus, wherein correct sampling of data at the reception apparatus by a clock is simple. A detection unit (25) of the reception apparatus (20n), based on the data output from a sampler unit (23), detects either the phase difference between data received by a data reception unit (21) and the clock received by a clock reception unit (22), and/or the waveform distortion of the data. The detection signal transmission unit (26) transmits a detection signal, showing the results of detection by the detection unit (25), to the transmission apparatus (10). In the transmission apparatus (10), a control unit (15), based on the detection signal received by a detection signal reception unit (14), controls either the adjustment of the phase between the data transmitted by a data transmission unit (11) and the clock transmitted by a clock transmission unit (12), and/or the adjustment of the amplitude of the data.
