Exergy Analysis of 300MW Coal-Fired Power Plant

Abstract In order to find the real distribution of energy loss and weak links in electricity production, based on the second law of thermodynamics and “fuel” and “product” concept, a 300MW thermal power plant is taken for example, irreversible loss distribution is obtained through detailed exergy analysis. Then, the comparison of the performance of major equipments of plant under rated condition, 75%, 50% and 30% loads by sliding pressure regulation shows that load decrease makes the consumption of production uneconomically.
