Using the spectrum reflection curves of different grain size of snow measured in Binggou basin, the spectral reflection characteristics of snow are analyzed. It is found that the bands near 1030 nm are sensitive to snow grain size. The relationships between snow grain size and the spectral reflection near the band are gained quantitatively. The bands near 1 030 nm and 1 250 nm are two obvious spectral absorption peaks of snow, with rather strong reflectance signal. The spectral features are analyzed in detail through 1) the differences of spectral reflection value near 1 030 nm bands,2) the differences of spectral reflection value near 1 250 nm bands,3) absorption band depth near 1 030 nm bands and 4) absorption band area near 1 030 nm bands.By comparison,it is revealed that the absorption band area has best linear and exponential relationship with the grain size.Again,it is found that near 1 030 nm,there is less effect of the atmospheric scatting and attenuation. The method can be applied directly to hyperspectral image.
