전통목조건축물 중도리 위치에 대한 연구

Purlin is a structural member which delivers load to beams and columns. Mid-purlin(jung-dori) which determines the shape of the roof and engages with plane is very important structural member. This study aims to investigate the position of mid-purlin in roof structure. In the most of the Korean Traditional Wooden Architecture, the mid-purlins are located on the range of a quarter to one-third point and two-thirds to three-forths point of beam if the position of mid-pulins are vertically projected on beam. The mid-purlins of specific pavillions which have inner pillars tend to locate at near a quarter and three-forths point of beam. This study verified that this tendency is closely related to the location and joint of inner pillars.
