Estimation of the Flooded Volume in Ad Hoc Networks Using Evolving Networking Theory

Since mobile nodes in mobile ad hoc network may spread in an arbitrary manner, one of the fundamental issues is how to enhance flooded volume in a mobile ad hoc network. In this paper, we model the flooded volume in mobile ad hoc network using Watts–Strogatz (W–S) evolving networking theory, and get the result that if some conditions for observer gain constant are satisfied, the total volume of the flooded nodes can be estimated.
